Print friendly

Speaker Todd McLeay, General Manager – Business Marketing, Vodafone New Zealand

Every second New Zealander has a mobile phone. And, it’s probably a Vodafone. That’s because Vodafone kicks butt ... and their competitors have the bruises to prove it.

Vodafone New Zealand is part of the largest mobile telecommunications company in the world. It operates in 29 countries and has 93 million customers - a staggering 24% of all users worldwide.Back in November 1998, Vodafone bought Bellsouth. Since then, the company has:
· increased its customer base from less than 150,000 to nearly a million
· built brand awareness to 98%
· increased its market share from 14% to well into the 40s
· created the text messaging phenomenon

The company not only offers mobile, WAP and text services, it’s also one of New Zealand’s biggest sport sponsors – the Warriors, Silver Ferns, Football Kingz and four sides in this year’s NPC.

Todd McLeay is Vodafone’s General Manager - Business Marketing. He has a degree in Marketing and Finance from Otago University and his career has spanned the globe.
From Southland Building Society in Invercargill, to Unisys in Philadelphia, to NewsCorp in London.
