John works with staging the Chinese Lantern Festival in Auckland and Christchurch (over 150,000 people over 3 nights), and the Diwali Festival of Lights in Auckland and Wellington, along with promoting media education business topics on Asia. The statistics themselves are mind boggling - One third of our tourist revenue comes from Asia, an amount of $2 billion + 70% of our exports go to APEC countries - half of them go to Asia.
